If no real reforms are done, VAT hike idea will be raised again in a couple of months, says rightist
If there are no real reforms connected to cut in the unnecessary expenses, the VAT and tax hike idea will be raised again in the next couple of months, said Martin Dimitrov, leader of the Union of Democratic Forces and co-chairperson of the Blue Coalition, in interview to BNT.

Martin Dimitrov: PM Borisov should promise that VAT would not be raised
“The anti-crisis measures of the Borisov cabinet were populist ones and they started to fail, one by one. It is quite clear now that there would be no “luxury” tax and that many other populist ideas could not be realised. That is why we want PM Borisov to come in the parliament and to promise that the VAT would not be raised. Such a measure would be catastrophic and would seriously harm the Bulgarian economy,” the co-leader of the Blue Coalition – Martin Dimitrov, said at a briefing in the parliament, Focus News Agency reported.

Amendment to the Healthcare Act was needed in order to be made the contract for vaccines of the so- called swine flu. "What I say and what we in the Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) want is to make clear who has prepared all documents for public procurement procedure, because we can remember that there was an extremely high tension, public pressure and dissatisfaction with the fact that adequate amount of Tamiflu was not provided in Bulgaria. This is what MP from UDF and Chairman of the Health Committee in the Parliament Dr. Vanyo Sharkov said for Radio Focus - Veliko Tarnovo.
